There were 16 printings of the first edition. The seventh printing is the rarest. As part of the War Effort, Federal law required that the size of books be reduced and the books became smaller. In order to keep the costs of printing down the cheapest fabric was always choosen. Accordingly the first 4 printing had multiple colors cloth covers. With the 2nd Printings few books were bound in the leftover Red Cloth. The second printings from 1941 are Baby Blue, Red, and Navy. The third printings are Baby Blue, Navy Blue, and Olive Green (rarest 3rd Printing), the fourth printings are Navy and Olive Green, the fifth Printing is Baby Blue and all of the 6th-16th Printings are Navy.
